What is Your Game Plan?
No, really. What is it? Don’t you have a routine in the morning? Coffee first, lots of sugar, and cream? A favorite mug you always take, but only after you’ve rinsed it, even though you washed it the night before?
Routines make us feel safe, organized and in control. So I suggest you get a writing routine now! You’ll accomplish more with it than you ever did without it.

A Word About Muses and Perfectionism
We all want our muses to come to us every time. You know those inspired pieces of writing that just sound oh so awesome. You read it back to yourself and pat yourself on the back because that’s exactly how you wanted it to sound.
Perfectionism is wanting to produce 100% quality 100% percent of the time. This is UNATTAINABLE. I love The Simpsons. Lots of people love The Simpsons. Its critically acclaimed and a game changer in the cartoon scene. Family Guy is another one of my favorite shows. They’ve both been praised for their quality, but guess what? I just saw an episode of both shows and they were just ehh.
And while we’re talking about my favorite cartoons, I love the anime series Naruto. But, guess what? The episodes after Sasuke leaves are just pure garbage in my opinion and many others. And? Naruto is still considered to be one of the best animes out there. Every author has a garbage novel, short story, novella, etc.
And you know what? Creators are not usually judged on their worse piece, but their best.
The best way to call your muse on a regular basis is to write more. There’s nothing like reading over that perfect sentence. But that what makes it so special, it doesn’t come everyday. When your muse sees you bussin’ your tail to write, she’s going to be more inclined to show up.
